Course membership:
This three-day course is designed for persons who undertake the duties of an Authorised Person in accordance with customers Safety Management System in their responsibilities within their role of an Authorised Person.
Course objectives:
By the end of the course, delegates will be able to:
To review the essential underpinning technical knowledge appropriate for operations and work on Low Voltage networks.
To confirm the ability to recognise key hazards relating to work/testing on electrical networks
Recap on legislative considerations when working on LV electrical systems.
To demonstrate an understanding and appropriate working knowledge of electrical safety guidance for LV systems including Safety Management Systems.
To confirm the ability to prepare Safety Programmes, Isolation diagrams and Safety Documents.
To confirm the ability to operate safely on LV systems and to ensure that appropriate safety measures are in place prior to work/testing activities being carried out.
To confirm the understand the duties and responsibilities of an Authorised Person (LV) as defined within an SMS and to demonstrate a satisfactory standard of competence to carry them out.
To understand how to comply with Regulation 14 of the Electricity at Work Regulations and apply safe live working practices
