OUR COURSES
We offer a wide range of courses for the EV Sector
EV Informed Person
The Informed Person Training Course provides an essential introduction to the safety considerations associated with working around electric and hybrid defence systems, including vehicles, propulsion systems, and energy storage technologies.
This course explores the key safety principles for accessing environments where electric platforms, powertrain systems, or battery technologies are being developed, integrated, or maintained.
It is ideally suited to personnel new to electric technologies who require a foundational understanding of high-voltage hazards, safe working practices, and the controls necessary to operate safely in advanced defence engineering environments.
EV Competent Person
The EV Competent Person Training Course introduces the principles and preferred working practices for carrying out tasks on High-Voltage (HV) powertrain systems that have been made dead and isolated from all sources of electrical energy.
Learners will develop the competence to receive and understand safety documentation, verify isolation and de-energisation procedures, and confirm that the system is electrically dead at the point of work.
This course is intended for technical personnel involved in the maintenance, testing, or integration of electric and hybrid defence platforms, including aerial and ground vehicles, unmanned platforms, and submersible systems.
EV Authorised Person
The EV Authorised Person Training Course provides an in-depth understanding of the principles and preferred working practices for safe electrical isolation when undertaking work on High Voltage (HV) powertrain systems.
Learners will develop the knowledge and authority to conduct risk assessments, issue safety documentation, and supervise Competent Persons performing tasks on electrically hazardous systems.
This course is designed for engineers, supervisors, and technical leads responsible for managing or overseeing work on electric and hybrid defence platforms, including aerial and ground vehicles, unmanned platforms, and submersible systems.
EV Senior Authorised Person
The EV Senior Authorised Person Training Course provides advanced instruction in the principles and preferred working practices for exploratory and Live Working activities on Hazardous Voltage (HaV) powertrain systems.
Learners will develop the competence to conduct detailed risk assessments, select and implement appropriate control measures, including personal protective equipment (PPE), and prepare Safe Systems of Work.
Participants will also gain the authority to issue safety documentation to enable high-risk live or diagnostic work to be carried out safely and in accordance with approved procedures.
This course is designed for experienced engineers and technical leads responsible for managing or authorising live electrical work on electric and hybrid defence systems, such as aerial and ground vehicles, unmanned platforms, and submersible systems.
Battery System Competent Person
The Battery System Competent Person Training Course introduces the principles and preferred working practices for Live Working activities on Battery System modules during assembly and integration.
Learners will develop the competence to apply risk assessments, implement appropriate control measures including personal protective equipment (PPE), and work in accordance with an approved Safe System of Work.
Participants will also be able to receive and understand safety documentation to ensure high-risk assembly activities are completed safely and compliantly.
This course is suitable for technicians and engineers engaged in the manufacture, assembly, and testing of advanced battery systems for electric and hybrid defence applications.
Battery System Senior Authorised Person
The Battery System Senior Authorised Person Training Course provides advanced instruction in the principles and preferred working practices for Live Working on Hazardous Voltage Battery Systems.
Learners will develop the competence to conduct detailed risk assessments, select and implement appropriate control measures including personal protective equipment (PPE), and prepare Safe Systems of Work. Participants will also gain the authority to issue safety documentation to enable high-risk live activities to be completed safely and in accordance with approved procedures.
This course is designed for experienced engineers, supervisors, and technical leads responsible for managing or authorising live electrical work on battery systems for electric and hybrid defence platforms, such as aerial, ground, and submersible systems.
EV & Battery System Senior Authorised Person (Combined)
The Combined Electric Vehicle and Battery System Senior Authorised Person Training Course is designed for individuals responsible for working across a broad range of electric vehicle (EV) and battery system technologies.
Learners will develop the competence to conduct detailed risk assessments, select and apply appropriate control measures including personal protective equipment (PPE), and prepare Safe Systems of Work.
Participants will also gain the authority to issue safety documentation to enable high-risk live work to be completed safely and in accordance with approved procedures.
This course is ideally suited to experienced engineers, supervisors, and technical leads working across electric and hybrid defence platforms, including aerial, ground, and submersible systems.
Test Cell Senior Authorised Person Training
This training programme is designed to equip learners with the knowledge and skills required to work safely in testing and validation environments involving prototype components.
The course covers the principles of making equipment safe to work on during the test cycle and the controlled application of Live Working practices where required for measurement and diagnostic activities.
