It contains the knowledge of the dangers surrounding electr/hybrid vehicles (all variations) and the precautions to avoid potential injury. 

 

This award is designed for technicians and first responders who attend electric vehciles that are in need or recovery due to breakdown or an accident. ourse content covers the skills and knowledge required to work safely around a vehicle's high and low voltage electrical system safely. On completing this qualification, technicians will have gained knowledge of both high and low voltage technologies and an understanding of their dangers. 

 

This award is designed for learners who maintain and repair electric/hybrid vehicles with the knowledge and skills required to work on live high voltage vehicle electrical components and associated systems. It also demonstrates, in a practical way, their knowledge of high voltage diagnostic, testing and repair procedures. 

 

Note: This unit can only be undertaken after successful completion of 'IMI Level 3 - Award in Electric/Hybrid Vehicle System Repair and Replacement' and a recommended minimum of 6 months, or by completing the Learner Eligibility form providing evidence of related/relevant experience. 

 

This unit does not cover commercial or domestic electrical installations including charging equipment and cables.
